INTRODUCING ATLANTA CHIROPRACTOR, DR. CHRISTOPHER SCOMA
My Chiropractic Story

I have to admit, there was a time in my life many years ago when I believed that someday a “pill” would be invented that would solve all of our health problems.
My tremendous faith in medicine lead me to the point one day that I found myself taking 6-10 Motrin a day like candy for a shoulder injury that constantly hurt. I had days that I wish I could just detach it from my body because the crippling pain was so intense.
The pain brought me to the point to where all the Motrin, Tylenol and Advil I was taking started taking its toll on my stomach and I found myself several times on my knees sick to my stomach. When I got to that point, I decided there had to be a better way of dealing with this problem. My mother suggested I give Chiropractic a try. But why? My neck or back didn't hurt. I hadn't been in any recent car accident. And I was in great shape. At the time, I was training for Olympic Trials at a local university in Track and Field. So I took my mother's advice to the team physician for his expert opinion on Chiropractic. Much to my surprise, he was so against me seeing a chiropractor that he threatened to have me thrown off the team if I went. I became very discouraged and depressed by his negative opposition. But I felt in my heart that I needed to listen to my mother.
So I went to my mother's chiropractor who was near 70 years old at the time working out of an office attached to his home. He was a kind and quite old man, and didn't speak much. So when I told him what the problem was all he said was, “okay come lay down”. He felt the back of my neck and upper back. He massaged my neck for a minute then with a gentle force made an adjustment to the lower bones of my neck. I didn't really know what to think at the time. I had mixed emotions. I felt a tremendous release of pressure in my neck, head and upper back. Surprisingly, I also felt relief from the intense pain in my shoulder. I was shocked, amazed, puzzled, happy and excited all at the same time. All I could say was, “How, how do you do that!?!”. He just smiled, shook my hand then left the room to see his next patient. From that day on, I continued to receive preventative care as I pursued my own career as a chiropractor and I will never forget that kind old man who changed my life forever.
Today I enjoy changing lives for the better in my own practice. Over the last 10 years, I have helped many people of all ages get out of pain, breathe better, sleep better, get off unneeded medication and just plain feel better through Chiropractic care.
